This project is part of a larger project in which a drone/UAV has an onboard computer loaded with wildfire detection software and an infrared camera the FLIR Tau 320. I am in charge of implementing an algorithm that will be able to identify fire sources out of other heat sources and give information to a suppression drone that will try to suppress the fire.
Currently I have implemented a local intensity operation (LIO) called intensity brightening operation (IBO) algorithm. The next step will be to develop an identification algorithm to separate fire and other heat sources.
